Care Instructions
Following these instructions will help you look after your favorite pieces and make your EdWonder clothes and accessories last much longer. For more precise care instructions, please refer to the label of the specific garment.
This care guide includes short sleeve jerseys, long sleeve jerseys, bib shorts, bib tights, base layers, mitts, gloves, and performance socks.
Detergent:
There are a number of environmentally certified detergents and cleansers available that reduce the impact of washing on the environment. As a rule of thumb, avoid using cheap detergent. We recommend using activewear-specific detergents. Avoid using too much detergent as it can cause discoloration and won't make your clothes cleaner. It's best to stay away from low-quality liquid detergents.
Fabric softener:
Avoid using fabric softener as it has a negative impact on the garments' performance and the environment. Some substances in fabric softener are hard to break down in nature and can harm water-dwelling organisms.
Temperature:
Machine wash your performance garments at 30 degrees Celsius. Washing at a lower temperature will use less energy while still providing a proper cleaning.
Drying:
Do not tumble dry your EdWonder garments; instead, hang them up to dry naturally. This ensures your clothes will last longer and look better.
Other Care Tips:
- Wash your garments as soon as possible after they become wet and dirty.
- Using a laundry net for your garments is advised, and avoid washing them with items that have Velcro straps.
- Hand washing your garments is the best option as it will increase their longevity.
- Wash your garments with similar colors and avoid putting them in a cycle with other clothes such as jeans or shirts with buttons.
- Do not twist or wring the garments.
- Do not dry clean, bleach, or iron the garments.
How to properly clean your bike helmet:
Clean the helmet only with water, neutral soap, and a soft cloth. Leave it to dry naturally at room temperature. In no case should you use chemical detergents, solvents, petrol, or abrasive powders, as they are aggressive and could lower the structural resistance of the helmet.
How to wash helmet pads:
We recommend washing your helmet pads by hand in cold water with mild soap. You can put them in the washing machine (using the cold temperature and gentle cycle) but there's a chance they may begin to separate. Do not put the pads in the dryer; air dry them instead. If they have disintegrated too much, consider replacing them for a fresh fit.
Washing bike helmet straps:
Wet the straps with water and mild soap. Lightly rub the straps to clean them. If you are washing light-colored straps, scrub a little harder, as they may show dirt and sweat more easily.
Tips for carrying and storing the helmet:
For carrying the helmet, use the dust bag that comes with it. After use, we recommend storing it in a cool and dry place away from heat sources, frost, high humidity, corrosive substances, or other possible causes of damage. During transportation, avoid any sharp objects falling from above that could damage it.
Cleaning and Maintenance:
To clean your titanium product, we recommend using a sponge and a general neutral detergent or baking soda. If food residue has dried on the titanium, it can be soaked in hot water before washing. Please note that titanium products with a hollow layer (double layer) should not be boiled in hot water or directly heated by an open flame or other methods. This is because the gas trapped in the hollow layer may expand and potentially damage the product.
Interaction with Ceramics:
Titanium may cause nicks or marks on ceramics due to a normal reaction with titanium dioxide residue. Rest assured, this residue is safe, non-toxic, and harmless.
Discoloration at High Temperatures:
Titanium can exhibit discoloration when exposed to high temperatures. The titanium dioxide film on the surface may vary in thickness, leading to the reflection of colorful and different shades when refracted by light. Once the discoloration occurs, it cannot be restored. This color-changing characteristic is inherent to titanium and poses no harm. It is safe, non-toxic, and harmless.
